Fall Vacation Destinations

fallVacationThe fall season officially kicks off tomorrow, marking the end of another sultry summer and the start of potentially cooler temperatures.  Although summer is often associated with getting away for a vacation, the nicer weather is an ideal time to explore a new city.  Here are a few suggestions to consider if you’re looking for a fall getaway.

Savannah, Georgia is famed for its stunning architecture and its delectable assortment of comfort food.  There are also several music festivals that take place during the fall or you may want to stay at one of the historic bed and breakfast inns.  If you’ve never been to Georgia, Savannah is also a fantastic city to experience the inimitable Southern hospitality.

Now that most of the tourists have gone back home, San Francisco is a fantastic option to consider during this off peak season.  Take a ride on the famous Golden Gate Bridge or explore the unusually crooked Lombard Street that’s right across from the bridge.  Ghirardelli Square is also a great spot to visit via cable car, especially if you have children who like chocolate or have a fondness for the treat yourself.

New York City is one of those cities that’s worth a visit regardless of the season, but going during the fall season does have its benefits.  You may want to explore the verdant trees at sprawling Central Park, and SoHo provides plenty of shopping so you can get a head start on gifts for the holidays.

These three cities are only a small example of many other cities that make for a great fall vacation destination.  If you’re looking for fall vacation homes in South Florida, The Lotus Sisters are experts in Fort Lauderdale homes for sale.  We are also well- versed in affluent Miami-Dade County communities like Bal Harbour and Coral Gables.
